Tell us a little about the specialist treatments/ classes you offer, and if they’re in person or online, or both?
FibroScan is the latest must-have for the person who really wants to know their health on the inside is as good as they look on the outside. The service is currently only available at the Light Centres in Belgravia and Monument. We provide the country’s leading and only Fibroscan liver health assessment available outside the NHS or private healthcare, assessing your liver for stiffness and fat content. Fibroscan can be done as a one-off or as a regular health check on one of the body’s most important organs. The procedure is a quick, painless scan with a highly qualified and experienced specialist.
What does the client gain from each session?
The client gains immediate information and a written report on their liver’s health. We can now see if its healthy or have they put a little weight on, our working or life’s poorer diet. Our liver is the window to our body’s health, and we have seen its effect in COVID – poorer liver health increases our health risks, whilst the size of the person does not matter.
The client can measure the internal changes that improved diet and exercise can have in reducing the risks of Type 2 diabetes and heart disease; this can be seen in a matter of weeks.
How and where did you train or get your experience?
I am an award-winning nurse and qualified advanced nurse practitioner, and a nurse consultant in liver disease. I have over 35 years healthcare experience, and am CQC-regulated for performing FibroScan tests. I am a world leading expert in this area, and a panel member on the leading health podcast ‘Surfing the NASH Tsunami‘.
What is it about the treatments that you offer that you believe makes them stand out?
Knowing your liver health with FibroScan offers early information on one of the world’s leading causes of poor health and lost days at work with very few symptoms, including tiredness, lethargy and a lack of high quality sleep. One in four people have poor liver health, but we can only improve this when we have a diagnoses, which is where FibroScan steps in, helping you make early changes and avoid many liver related problems including hypertension, high cholesterol and liver cancer.
